Supporting Military Spouses With Sustainable Employment Opportunities

Christine Gilchrist, co-founder and CEO of Spouse Force, has background in executive roles across both the government and private sectors. Her 30-year career includes 13 years at the Senior Executive Service (SES) level, where she honed her skills in government operations, program management, politics and policy-making. Additionally, Christine’s private sector experience encompasses recruiting CEOs and Board Directors for Not-For-Profits, government entities, and large corporations. Her comprehensive understanding of complex bureaucratic environments has been crucial in defining the vision and strategic direction of Spouse Force.

Ken Gilchrist, co-founder and a veteran of the Australian Defence Force, has an impressive military background with 28 years of service, including 6 overseas deployments to Iraq, East Timor, and Afghanistan. His extensive experience in the military has given him resilience, leadership, and a deep-seated understanding of the challenges faced by military personnel and their families. Ken’s firsthand experiences with the mobility demands of military life and the impact on family stability drive the mission of Spouse Force to support military spouses with sustainable employment opportunities.

Together, Christine and Ken combine their unique perspectives and experiences to lead Spouse Force. Their backgrounds enable them to address the dual aspects of employment challenges for military spouses: the need for flexible, remote work that accommodates the transient nature of military life, and the skills and stability that spouses bring to the workforce. Their leadership not only steers Spouse Force towards innovative solutions in remote employment but also fosters a supportive community for military families striving for economic independence and professional growth.

More Than Just Legacy

At Spouse Force, our commitment to Australian military spouses goes beyond typical employment. Our business model is rooted in reinvesting our profits to maximise the professional and financial empowerment of military spouses. It’s about creating substantial, life-changing opportunities that offer more than just employment – it’s about building lasting independence and economic stability.

A large portion of our turnover is dedicated to providing competitive compensation and helping many spouses build and sustain their own businesses – empowering them to thrive as independent professionals. This ensures they not only gain meaningful work but also reap the financial benefits that reflect the value of their contributions.

In addition to fostering entrepreneurial success among many of our team members, we proudly support Legacy as an organisation that aligns with our mission by aiding war widows and their families. This partnership complements our direct efforts, extending our impact and reinforcing our commitment to the broader military family community.

By choosing Spouse Force, our clients contribute to a virtuous cycle of empowerment. They receive exceptional services while supporting a business model that significantly enhances the welfare of military families. We believe in making every dollar count towards building a stronger, more resilient community, where the dedication of military families is met with an equal commitment to their success and independence.
